About my Practice as an Intimacy Coordinator

I have been as a specialized Intimacy Coordinator since 2017 with a focus in queer cinema, the horror genre, and scenes that deal with elements of violence. As a survivor myself, it is of particular importance to me that cinematic violence is filmed in a safe way with the support and guidance of an Intimacy Coordinator who uses a trauma-informed approach. This is one of many tools I have in my tool kit that assist me to be an intuitive, informed, and skilled Intimacy Coordinator. Consent, comfortability, and communication are the corner stones of my practice.

I hold a BFA in Film, Video, Animation, and New Genres from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I graduated in 2023 with Highest Honours (summa cum laude). I also hold an Associate of Science Degree in Film Production for the Los Angeles Film School, having graduated in 2018 with Highest Honours (summa cum laude).

I also have an educational background in Speech, Language, Psychology, and Criminology which has provided strong foundational tools to approach these types of intimate scenes with professionalism, knowledge, and sensitivity.

I’m an Educator, teaching undergraduate Gender Studies courses at University. This along with my lived-experience as a queer, femme presenting, bigender artist also informs my work as an Intimacy Coordinator and my ability to approach queer intimacy with experience, care, and integrity. My previous work as a 1st AD on indie films has informed my sense of how integral safety is for everyone onset, which translates well to Intimacy Coordination. AI have been an indie Filmmaker for a decade which provides a strong background in storytelling, continuity of emotion, and creativity; integral to the field of Intimacy Coordination.

An early background in ballet and acting allows me to have a deep understanding for choreography, movement, and the actor’s experience.
